In Their Memory and Your Honor

Tonight serves as a memorial
For those God has called home,
For those that we hold special
Who on earth no longer roam.

For those who walked before us
And fulfilled their earthly chores,
For those who have been made whole
Again - as they walked through heaven’s doors.

For those who set examples
That are such a big part of our life,
The cousin, brother, sister, child, niece, nephew
Aunt, uncle, Mom, Dad, the husband or the wife.

You still live within our memories
And others can see you live in us,
And though we don’t comprehend all life’s mysteries
May we keep our faith strong - and in God our trust.

And tonight we honor Hospice
For their unselfish and gracious love,
For coming to us in greatest times of need
As if touched by angels sent from heaven above.

For their knowledge and understanding
In the situations in which they are placed,
For their open acts of kindness, and
For us a comforting feeling, by God they are graced.

We thank you and we applaud you
For your compassion and your care,
And for the peace that rests within our hearts
Knowing, when we need you - you’ll be there.

God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.
